Q. Bickford’s Premium Fruit Juices and Juice Drinks are made from fruit concentrate. What does this mean?
A. Fruit concentrate means that the fruit has gone through a process of reconstitution and then had water added to it to produce the final product.
The process of reconstitution involves squeezing the juice from the fruit which is then ‘condensed’ by the removal of the water using heat. The resultant concentrate is then transported to our plant where the water is added back to the concentrate.
The main purpose of this process is to reduce transportation costs and ensure the juice is available all year round. Bickford’s only procure the best quality juice concentrates for its juices. This plus the care and attention to detail Bickford’s applies to the processing of our juices means that the delicious fruit flavours are retained.
